Positive Behaviour Support

Belmore School adapted the Department of Education and Training endorsed School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPB) framework to enhance a positive and supportive learning environment to all of our students. SWPB is an intentional recognised educational framework based on evidence-based approach to preventing and supporting student’s behaviour.

The SWPB framework is based on the understanding the behaviour is a form of communication and is founded on three-tiered pyramid with strategies that assist all Belmore School staff to understand the functionality of the behaviour and to respond positively and encouraging by supporting students to understand their own emotions and develop resilience through the embedment of behavioural expectations and the use of a consistent language across all learning settings.
