Enrolment at Belmore
Parents and carers of children with a disability are invited to contact our Principal, to ascertain if your child meets the enrolment eligibility criteria for Belmore School and to arrange a personalised tour of the school.
Enrolment at Belmore School is welcomed throughout the school year for students who meet the eligibility criteria.
If your child meets the enrolment criteria, the school will provide you with an enrolment pack, including an enrolment form.
Prior to commencement an enrolment meeting will be held with parents/carers and key school personnel to discuss important information pertinent to your child as a means to identify educational priorities and specific support required. Our team of therapists will also meet with you and your child to undertake a complete assessment of your child’s functional ability. These meetings assist our staff to ensure we know your child and are able to commence the development of a comprehensive individualised learning program to meet their needs.
ENROLMENT REQUIREMENTS
Completed school enrolment documentation along with:
- Copy of birth certificate or passport
- Copy of immunisation record
- Copy of medical information and relevant medical plans
Additional information will be required for the enrolment of overseas students.
PSD FUNDING
The Principal will support the application of enrolment, assessment and funding for students considered eligible for funding through the Department of Education and Training’s Program for Students with Disabilities (PSD). Students with current PSD funding can transfer into the school directly.
TRANSITION
An individualised program will be developed to support your child’s successful transition into Belmore School. An extensive transition process is organised during Term 4 for our foundation and junior secondary students commencing at the start of the following school year.
TRANSPORT
While all eligible students, regardless of residential address, are welcome to enrol in Belmore School, students who live within Belmore School’s designated bus transport zone are eligible for free DET chaperoned bus transport to and from school.
